House of Mandela: Here’s What You Need to Know

The House of Mandela is the progeny of the Royal House of Mandela, an African family dedicated to preserving their history, culture, and family. Their history, culture, and family values are closely linked with the life and times of Africa, her people, resilience, compassion, and courage.

The Mandela name is one of heritage, strong values, and royalty. The Mandelas are the descendants of a royal bloodline that dates back to the 18th century when Thembu Land was part of the royal kingdom of the Eastern Cape. Our legacy can be traced to King Ngubengcuka, the king of the Thembus, to a small village in the Eastern Cape, where the great Chief Mphakanyiswa of Mvezo and father to Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela ruled.

Their history is steeped in tradition, family values, and a strong sense of community. They are proud of our heritage and believe that only when we understand and appreciate where we come from is it possible to achieve a state of enlightenment and progress in our journey through life.

House of Mandela Projects

The House of Mandela is launching the House of Mandela Token (HOM) rewards program allowing merchants to offer customers a 5% token-back reward at no cost to them.

Merchants can receive next-day payments in cash in their bank account with zero exchange rate risk. This is possible thanks to ForumPay’s crypto payment gateway technology that instantly processes crypto-to-cash payments, including HOM Tokens.

Paying with HOM Tokens is as easy as using a debit card. So how does it work?

  1. HOM Token paying customers can go to any ForumPay-supported store or business to purchase goods and services.
  2. Once the payment is processed by ForumPay technology (free to install and compatible with most buying portals and systems), 100% of the funds are collected and sent to the merchant in the currency of their choice.
  3. The token issuer automatically applies the 5% token-back reward to be spent anywhere.

House of Mandela Family Foundation

The House of Mandela Family Foundation (HoMFF) was set up in 2017 to improve the livelihoods of poor communities and globally advocate for social issues that affect African communities, mainly social justice, advocacy, HIV and AIDS, education, health, agriculture, women empowerment and promoting alternate energy sectors.

President Nelson Mandela devoted himself to campaigning against poverty, illiteracy, and AIDS in Africa. He believed that ‘ Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice’.

Grounded by Madiba’s values, the HoMFF has supported the works of organizations like St Mary’s Foundation and My Life foundation in their programs. With a great sense of responsibility and a passion for contributing positively to society, HoMFF has embarked on the Qunu Food Security project, anchored at Madiba’s farm in the Eastern Cape.

Qunu is the childhood home of President Nelson Mandela and the place where he is buried. So it has great significance not only to the family and the community around it but to South Africa and the world as there lies a legend of contemporary times. The Qunu Food Security project is the leading initiative, although HoMFF has the scope to expand to holistic community development, including women empowerment, youth development, health, and education.

Partnerships have already been set up to create a value chain for the project so that produce farmed will be taken directly to the market. In empowering the community through agriculture, the Qunu food security project endeavours to increase access for beneficiaries while teaching sustainable farming methods, providing quality checks, maintaining animal health, entrepreneurship training, and introducing new technologies that maximize output in farming.
