The House of Mandela (HOM) Token Rewards Program was created by the Mandela family to carry on Nelson Mandela’s legacy into the digital age of cryptocurrencies. Anyone can acquire and spend HOM Tokens at any supported business. Its users will automatically receive 5% back on purchases to their crypto wallet. They can spend the rewards in exchange for more goods and services or directly donate to the House Of Mandela Foundation.
The House of Mandela Family Foundation
The House of Mandela Family Foundation was established in 2017 to improve the livelihoods of underprivileged communities and take on social issues affecting impoverished African communities.
Some of these social issues include:
- Social Justice
- Advocacy
- AIDS
- HIV
- Education
- Health
- Agriculture
- Women Empowerment
- Alternative Energy Sourcing
These topics hope to encourage social responsibility for HOM users and merchants that accept HOM Tokens. Currently, the House of Mandela is fully engaged in the Qunu Food Security Project.
Qunu Food Security Project
Nelson Mandela devoted himself to campaigning against poverty, illiteracy, and AIDS in Africa. He believed that “overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice.”
The House of Mandela Family Foundation has supported the works of organizations like St Mary’s Foundation and My Life foundation in their programs. With a great sense of responsibility and a passion for contributing positively to society, the House of Mandela Family Foundation has embarked on the Qunu Food Security project, which will be anchored at Madiba’s farm in the Eastern Cape.
Qunu is the childhood home of Nelson Mandela and the place where he is buried. So it has a great significance not only to the family and the community around it but to South Africa and the world at large, as there lies a legend of contemporary times. The Qunu Food Security project is the leading initiative. However, the House of Mandela Family Foundation has the scope to expand to holistic community development, which will include women empowerment, youth development, health, and education.
Partnerships have already been set up to create a value chain for the project so that produce farmed will be taken directly to the market. In empowering the community through agriculture, the Qunu food security project endeavours to increase access for beneficiaries while teaching sustainable farming methods, providing quality checks, maintaining animal health, entrepreneurship training, and introducing new technologies that maximize output in farming.
“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.” – Nelson Mandela
How You Can Help
The House of Mandela has launched the HOM Token and HOM Token-Back Rewards Program, allowing merchants to accept HOM Tokens as payment like any other currency. Merchants can offer a 5% token-back reward to users on all purchases at no cost to them.
